Meet Pilot, the worlds first Helicopter flying dog!  Pilot will assist Officer Don by flying as copilot. Pilot will  serve as an ambassador to help promote aviation (especially to kids!) and will make appearances landing in the helicopter with Officer Don.  Pilot is getting his "Flight Training" at  Uptown Hounds, and will be ready to fly soon.  Dr. Butch and the Animal Care Clinic are serving as his official "Flight Surgeon".  Look for photos and videos showing pilots progress. 

The Breed

Pilot, a Goldendoodle, is a a hybrid cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. These are lovable, well-mannered, intelligent dogs with a great charm. These dogs are highly intelligent and one of the most trainable breeds. The Goldendoodle is friendly with everyone, including other dogs, and has very little, if any, guarding instincts, which prevents it from barking all the time. This breed needs to be around people to be happy.

A Goldendoodle's size is generally somewhere between that of a Poodle and a Golden Retriever. A Goldendoodle's coat can be curly, wavy, or straight and come in various colors. The breed has a non, to slight, shedding coat that many believe to be one of the only hypoallergenic breeds.
